View Article  I have no choice but to be a homebody now.

All the house biz is pretty much done. Just waiting on our reliable and super fast local government to process the down payment assistance paperwork and approve me so I can move. This paying rent thing sucks all of a sudden when I could be paying a mortgage instead. I got lots to think about in the very near future like the extra driving distance to work, new furniture, tv, and curtains, gas or solar water heater (probably solar), and redoing my kitchen over the long term and bathrooms over the short term since I plan on combining both bathrooms into one. First and foremost I wanna pay the house off, then I can start thinking about those things but they are on my mind. I’ve learned that my house is worth close to two and one fifth times more than what I’m gonna pay so it helps to have that built in equity.

In the meantime, my lender recommends I don’t do any extra spending till I move so that things look stable on my end. I’m okay with that cuz there’s not much I wanna do anyway. Had to pass completely on the Estelle concert. And might have to do the same for The Wrestler movie but I really don’t wanna do that since the cost won’t be that high. It’s only playing in one theater here for two weeks at the moment so I have a limited window of opportunity to see it. I have an anime movie and wrestling event listed in my calendar right now. PWX got moved to May but it’s not guaranteed that the event is gonna be a go. I also wanna do JACON this year instead of Megacon. Just so happens that this is JACON’s last year so it works out. I may or may not pay to see the movie Push. Still iffy on that one. And that’s all I got planned for the foreseeable future other than the live-action Akira and World War Z movie which are both a good while away. But obviously other things will pop up. These are just what I’m certain of at the moment.

To date, I still have unlimited bandwidth with Sprint. By now, we’ve all heard about the Palm Pre. I need a new phone and that phone was announced right on time cuz it’s looking like a winner. My thoughts are that it should be priced between $150-$300 to be competitive; the lower price point being available for those willing to sign a new contract. The news has done wonders for their stock price but I think some people might be disappointed over the long term. The surge is based purely on speculation. The company isn’t complaining, I’m sure, but considering the company’s financials, it might be a bit too risky to go long with. Some people have gotten paid already (day traders), that’s for damn sure, but still, it’s a little too much risk in this market in my opinion. Must be lots of people that either have faith that the phone will save the company (and Sprint) or they’re putting a good chunk of their eggs in the Palm basket and hope to reap the rewards later since they don’t have many other options. I’m not all that familiar with the company or its products but the phone does seem to have everything I’m looking for and a huge wave of momentum to boot.

The only negatives I can think of are that it doesn’t have removable storage, there’s no video capture, and the cam doesn’t have auto-focus. Nothing is final as far as phone specs just yet but these are things I’m gonna keep in mind along with the price. If they’re smart, they’ll go for the lower price point and gain more customers rather than the higher price point and get less. I still don’t get why companies don’t go for the lower price points. I understand you need to get paid but if you price everyone out, you won’t. I’d rather get more customers who I could cross-sell to rather than fewer who I could still cross-sell to but the numbers speak for themselves. Here’s to hoping Palm doesn’t shit on features that are important when considering their competition.

Took a while, but my site finally comes up first in a Google search. It was pissing me off that top sites and directories were coming up before my own damn site. Problem finally solved though. In other interesting news, from info in my stats, only about 50% of my traffic is from the US and 20-40% from Europe. How the fuck? I can’t get no love from my home country?

You notice I’ve been posting the Traces of Death shockumentary series. Reader killorlive put me up on a vid that he called ‘Ukrainian hammer time’ (which I found along with 1guy1cup which is meant to shock as much as 2girls1cup, both of which are pretty timid compared to this). I had to dig and dig to find what he was talking about but I finally did. The vid also goes by the name ‘3 guys, 1 hammer’ but is actually a leaked snuff vid from the murderers dubbed the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs. Click here to watch it. It’s a pretty raw ass vid, most likely to either disgust you, piss you off, traumatize you, or maybe even excite some of you sick fucks out there. So if you don’t have a strong stomach or can’t control your emotions, DO NOT click that link!

My impressions were that they made the guy suffer cuz he was still alive when they were killing him slowly and that pissed me off. I really felt sorry for the guy. My immediate thoughts after that was that I wanted justice. I wanted these guys caught for doing this. Just so happens that they were and that made me happy; to know that their victims didn’t die and suffer for nothing and to know that scum like them won’t be doing that shit to anyone else. So watch it and form your own opinions. I’ve seen more than my fair share of death vids but this one is pretty high on the sick factor. You’ve been warned. Also, I think it’s available via torrent too if you’d rather own than stream.

Not much happening on the tv front as usual. I’ve given multiple new shows from Britain, Canada, Australia, and the US a chance and only one of them so far has been good enough to recommend and that’d be ‘Above Suspicion.’ Kelly Reilly is very easy on the eyes and Jason Durr gave an excellent performance in his confession scene. I was surprised that it was only a two-parter, and it could’ve used an extra episode or 2 for backstory and character development for those not familiar with the books, but it was worth keeping on my hard drive. I’ll be streaming both eps after I’m done with Traveler.

One thing I noticed is their grammar. We all know there’s differences in all the English languages but this was the first time I noticed that the brits use ‘were’ instead of ‘was.’ I thought it was kinda funny at first and was just a character thing but when I heard it over and over again from different characters on different shows, I realized that was the norm, like the way they use ‘me’ instead of ‘my.’

The very last show I watched was The United States of Tara (didn’t cut the mustard but butterface Toni Collette’s bod is pretty tight) and the last movies I saw were Alien Raiders (acting is acceptable for a low budget flick but I wouldn’t recommend it) and Hulk vs. Wolverine and Thor. Hulk vs. Wolvie was pretty low on plot and high on action but vs. Thor had a better story and just as much action. Due to the length of them both (37 mins for Wolvie, 45 mins for Thor), I wouldn’t spend my money on them. Not saying they aren’t good but for the money, I expect a little more entertainment time. I’ll be streaming them both in probably 2 weeks when I’m done with the Planet of the Apes series.

As far as site updates go, I really hope to be able to sit my ass down and get the ball rolling since I’m not out looking at homes and shit anymore. That means certain parts of the site that may look neglected (like Exclusive Videos and Following the Syllabus) will get some new material. I had some vids in mind exclusively for my YouTube page but deleted them too quick and they’re unrecoverable. Oh well, I know now not to be so hasty.

View Article  What did I do for New Year’s Eve? I had to work.

Inspection’s over. Just met with my realtor to submit what we want done in order of importance to the seller’s realtor (who was at the inspection and despite her age, pretty easy on the eyes). So I’ll have more details as work begins and things start getting done. My realtor said the inspector accepted credit cards but he didn’t. I don’t carry cash or checks so I had to go driving around, wasting time and gas to find an atm. Went to a Chevron but theirs was out of order. Went to a Shell but they didn’t have one. Traffic was shit since it was rush hour so I dipped into a hotel. They had one. Withdrawal limit was $200 per transaction and I needed $250. Fuck! Plus they charged a $3.30 fee per transaction. I was cool with that cuz my bank refunds me those fees immediately. I got back to them since they were waiting at the house and neither had change to give me back my $10. So the inspector’s gonna mail me a check along with the inspection papers. What a fuckin’ day.

My plan was to go see Slumdog afterwards. If not for the atm hunt, I woulda made it in time. It started at 12:40p at the Regal Cinemas in Winter Park. I got to the theater about 5 minutes after thanks to the delay. I wasn’t disappointed. The movie was everything I was expecting from Danny Boyle. For the last answer in the movie, I thought it was C, not A, so I thought he got the answer wrong. Turns out he was right. I’m not too fond of letting the protagonist win it all but since fulfilling one’s destiny is the main theme of the movie, I accepted it. Boyle really knows how to end a movie, I’ll give him that. He’s a genius when it comes to that and I can finally admit that he’s my favorite director. Never could’ve narrowed it down to one person before but now I can. After the final emotional scene, there was a dance number that kinda took away from it. Maybe they could’ve saved that for after all the credits rather than blending with them. But still, damn good movie. There was about 20 or so people in the theater with me. And yes, I paid for the flick!

After that, I peeped a new Publix next door. An Albertsons had shut down to make way for it. It was nothing special except there was a lot of GreenWise shelf space. I was better off going to the bigger Publix in Baldwin Park. They have everything. This one didn’t have that much. I like grocery shopping in different places cuz no one store has everything. Gotta mix it up to get the variety.

I started my new schedule this week so finally I can get on a regular sleep pattern. I might have figured something out for my January dates problem. The Wrestler is available for dl right now but I wanna pay for it. I’m hoping it’ll be released in more than just one theater over a longer period than just one day. That means I can still see it on a day off and go see my wrestling. Estelle is performing in Jacksonville a few days after her Orlando date and I’ll be off that day. But J-ville is 2 hours away. Not sure if I wanna see her that bad but I got plenty of time to decide. Plus I just found out the new dates that ROH will be back in Orlando (February). Both wrestling dates are on a Saturday and I really don’t wanna swallow up 2 personal days that early in the year. So I’ll either have to decide which one I’ll do or I just might have to end up using 2 paid days (which I really don’t wanna do). Nobody’s gonna switch schedules with me and my job doesn’t have unpaid time. Dammit, dammit, dammit!

Just downloaded and watched the movie Blindness. I like Julianne Moore and she usually picks good roles but she made a mistake with this movie. It was horrible. Nice theme that should’ve went an intelligent, sci-fi route but since it’s based off a book, no chance of that happening. It was absurd and unrealistic. Not even gonna bother explaining it. The movie totally sucked mainly due to the writing. It was just bad. Don’t waste your time or money on it. I seriously doubt if the world went blind that it’d fall into mass chaos and disorder as portrayed here. And shouldn’t a person with sight have an advantage over blind people? So many faults with this movie. Casshern’s wife had nice legs though.
