View Article  My week so far: a wrestling show, protesters, a grocery store closing, and some of my thoughts about racism after watching a certain movie.

Click here for a slideshow of pics from the wrestling show. Click here to watch the video from the wrestling show.

The video above is from when I was at Albertsons. More about that below.

Sunday afternoon I went to GEAR wrestling with a friend. I heard it was gonna be a good show and convinced him to get that day off or switch shifts to come see it. He was better off working.

Neither of us had been to the Jai-Alai here or seen any action from that organization. It was a first for us both. The place is old and kinda dumpy and the employees are too. Parking was free. Saw a lot of familiar faces working for GEAR, doing ticketing and hocking merchandise. We did the rounds and went in. First thing we noticed was the cushy seats. And there were even plush sofas too. Those gamblers got it good. I did my rounds but the place was pretty boring and it was a premonition of things to come as the show was the same way. The place was a bit rundown and the acoustics were so terrible you couldn’t make out what anyone was saying on the mic. That was a bad place to have wrestling. People too far away rather than up close and intimate and the building itself was just too big. The roof was way up high, there was gobs of space in all directions of the ring, and the crowd was too small and sparse.

I was assured in a wrestling forum that this show would be good. That the talent wouldn’t be wasted as in TNA. I was lied to. Can’t hate though cuz the forum poster was just doing their job to get asses in the seats. There were no more than 100 people there. It was the same damn thing as FIP. Same talent, same workers, same promoter, same small crowd, same shitty sound, same boring matches, same shitty buildings, same old bullshit. I knew something was fucked up when the FIP tag belts were being defended here. GEAR is nothing more than a front for that shit and ROH. It’s all the same bullshit. Same formula but at least the ROH crowd is larger and the fans are into it. During the Necro Butcher/Jon Davis match, they took that shit all over the place and into the crowd. But the pussy ass fans just sat on their asses, not even into it at all.

I honestly have nothing good to say about the shit. Okay, I stand corrected. The matches for the most part sucked. The work rate and appearance of some of these guys was laughable. And seeing Dagon Briggs as a Logger was kinda pathetic. Guy can’t make up his damn mind what he wants to do with his fucking career. Lifeguards v. Loggers. The battle of the professions. One Lifeguard looked like a crackhead, the other needed an ab cruncher. I ain’t even gonna bother lookin’ up their names. It ain’t even worth it.

Overall, I know a lot of the guys can go. I actually like a lot of them but if they aren’t booked right then you get a show like this and that’s what sucks the most. The focus ain’t on live entertainment, it’s more on dvd sales. Motherfucker that was taping even told me I can’t videotape. Like I do what I’m told? Motherfucker don’t know me, do he? They had their own crew on hand for pics and vids and that’s a good thing cuz I didn’t get much. Reason being is cuz I didn’t want to cuz there was nothing going on to get excited about. Nothing worth me wasting space on my SDHC card.

As I was saying, the live audience should be the ones catered to but we aren’t. They just wanna get good footage to sell on dvd and that’s seemingly where they make their money. Problem is, the live action is so sucky, who would wanna watch the shit? And the crowd ain’t even into what they’re watching so that makes for a boring dvd in my opinion. If the crowd ain’t into it, then why bother? The wrestlers need to interact and get the audience into it and that energy will translate well to people watching it on dvd. This wasn’t a tv taping. They don’t have streaming video on their site. The show ain’t available for download. It’s available strictly via dvd. That’s a slap in the face to me.

It means to me that they have no intention of wanting to grow. They just want dvd money. That’s the one and only purpose of the show was for that. That’s greedy and it’s bullshit. What indy organization wouldn’t want YouTube exposure? People buzzing about it online? Forum posters and bloggers leaving positive feedback with pics and vids? If I was a promoter, I would want that. I don’t like this dvd business model. The attention and focus should go back to the live aspect first and foremost over the secondary market. They claim they exist to give the up-and-comers a chance to get in-ring experience with current and more experienced stars. What a crock of shit. Not gonna waste any more of my time givin’ ‘em free press.

The food in this craphole was on point though. We realized early on this was just another garbage wrestling show so we had to make our own fun. We had to eat too. There’s a restaurant in the Jai-Alai called the Jai Horse. Get it? “Jai” Horse? Anyway, the food was on the expensive side but an acquaintance who was with us that frequents the place recommended it over the concession stand. Man, the fucking food is fucking hot and delicious! I was very surprised cuz there was fucking ceiling tiles damn near falling off the damn jai-alai arena, paint peeling, bathroom stunk to hell and the trash was piled up and shit, but that little restaurant was on point.

Me personally, I would never eat at a place that wasn’t wholly clean. But I was hungry and they were there and I was feeling froggy. Inside the place is where the gamblers peep out the screens to see how their bets are doing I guess. Fucking place was like a goddamn library. Bone fucking quiet up in there. So that about wraps up the experience there. It sucked but the food from that restaurant made up for it. No more GEAR Wrestling for me. I’m fucking done with them. Want more reasons? They started over 30 minutes late cuz of some audio issues (that’s what I heard anyway). Intermission was about the same length of time. And even Mr. Brian Fritz from Between the Ropes was there with a free ticket and he walked out on that shit. I would’ve done the same damn thing. Not knocking the wrestlers, but that fucking show sucked (as someone said to me) donkey balls dipped in gravy.

Me and my homie got outta there just in time as it started to rain and we decided to peep Albertsons down the street to see what was left from their closing since Publix was taking over. I’d say that’s a good thing cuz Publix has some pretty old, dilapidated real estate currently. Their locations are fine but they need the square footage and modern appeal. I decided to pull out my cam and grab a little video since I was bored. I didn’t put much effort into it. Fucking employees were playing mock basketball since it was so dead while I was taping and one of the fuckbrains said I can’t videotape in the store. I just belted out something stupid in response. You can hear it in the vid. Wasn’t even really trying to get any good video since the wrestling show was a complete waste. I just figured I was there, might as well go for it. Fuck it.

I’d say the biggest surprise is the amount of blunts, cigs, and dip that was left. Shit was fucking 40% off and still sitting there. We were cracking jokes about Newports since that was the only brand that was sold out. We were looking for it cuz we know that’s what niggers smoke and we could definitely resell them shits for profit. But they were all gone. Either them damn niggers scooped ‘em all up or someone had the same thing in mind we did.

I failed to mention that there were some people picketing the movie Hamlet 2 when we got to the store and when we left. Stopped in the middle of the fucking street to take this pic and this one. There’s a movie theater nearby and apparently they consider the flick offensive cuz of some song performed during it about Jesus. Not gonna bother doing the research. You can do that yourself. They were holding up signs and yelling at drivers to not see the movie. What these idiots don’t realize is that they’re giving the movie free press. Where a person might not ever have even heard of Hamlet 2 or ever considered watching it, now they will just to see what these people are in a huff about. I think protesting, even though we have the right to do it, is pointless. These people should focus that time and energy on something that matters.

So a movie doesn’t agree with your beliefs. So it pokes fun at it. So what? Don’t like it, don’t fucking watch it. Same thing with you Tropic Thunder haters. So they poked fun at retards. So they used the fucking word. Motherfucking protesters said, “the ‘r’ word is just as bad as the ‘n’ word,” and shit like that. The ‘r’ word? Are you fucking kidding me? Are you people fucking serious? That’s the problem with this fucking country. People get offended too damn easily. Same people on tv sticking up for retard rights are the same people having sex with them when no one is around. Calling the movie ‘Tropic Blunder’ in protest was pretty funny though. Wonder if a ‘tard came up with that?

So we left there and came back to my pad and watched Street Kings. That movie wasn’t that bad at all. Lots of cussing, violence, and very direct dialogue. I liked it. I have it available and ready to stream here but there are bigger, better movies that I’m sure you’d prefer to watch. When the pickins get slim, I’ll post it. Downloaded some music after that and called it a night.

Next up was the movie “Do The Right Thing” at the Enzian Tuesday night. One friend couldn’t make it so another friend filled in at the last second. Believe it or not, I had never seen that movie before but he did. He told me to get ready for some dialogue that was gonna make me laugh and he wasn’t kidding.

The theater was pretty full. Had more crackers than niggers in there. He ate baked mac and cheese. I had pork soft tacos. The movie was dated for sure but at the end during the rioting, I didn’t know whether to laugh or just kick back and watch events unfold cuz the tone of the movie was mostly comedic. My friend told me back when it came out, no movie displayed nigger stupidity the way this one did. It was groundbreaking and inciteful. I was a stupid kid living in a small town at that time so I wouldn’t have known jack shit about what was going on. It wouldn’t have relevance to me then cuz I didn’t experience racism growing up. Not until I moved here to Orlando. So I understand the hostility and emotion in the movie and its importance when considering who had access to it and who it was made for back then.

Unfortunately, niggers are still kinda stupid like that but not quite as extreme. My friends belief is that the same way spics help their own and chinks help their own, niggers should do the same and only then can niggers come up cuz crackers are gonna keep trying to keep us down if we let them. My belief is that just because the actions of crackers in the past was evil and detrimental towards the black race (and others), that doesn’t mean I blame the white race as a whole. I can’t blame the entirety of crackers for the actions of a few. To me, it’s just not right. I don’t believe in the “helping your own” mentality. I believe in helping everyone that’s oppressed, not just one race. Everyone can come up together. It doesn’t have to be just one faction.

Jews keep it in the fam, crackers do the same, and so on and so forth. My friend thinks blacks should help blacks first cuz no one else will. You got your asian and spanish areas in every major city, even in grocery stores. Italians here, japs there. Niggers don’t have a section in the grocery store even though we eat very specific types of food just like all the other cultures. Where’s our section? When you think of the words “ghetto” or “hood,” automatically you think blacks. You know a hood when you’re in one. A nigger couldn’t possibly live in a nice house. My friend thinks money can help bring us up and even help curb racism. Money makes the world go round and is the cure for everything according to him. If niggers were on an even social standing with crackers, wouldn’t they respect us more and all that hate subside because of it? I don’t think so.

Yes, niggers have been seriously oppressed for countless generations, more so than most races on this planet. I can agree with that. Niggers got it rough but just because of colonialization, shit that was going down during the Enlightenment period, and US slavery; just because of those events doesn’t mean that current attitudes have to conform to those eras in history. Blacks should absolutely hate whites if that’s the case and there are those that do. And then there’s whites that absolutely hate blacks. It’s attitudes passed down throughout the generations and that’s the real problem. Hate isn’t hereditary or genetic, it’s learned.

It’s the same as if I got carjacked by a spic. Logically, does that mean I should hate all spics? No. But a traumatic experience like that can germinate that seed of hate and I know it’s hard to overcome. But it can be; with education and attitude adjustments. It doesn’t cost a single penny to change someone’s attitude. All it takes is the right words, the right actions, the right place, the right circumstances. That’s all it takes. Why can’t people share rather than horde and “keep it in the family.” I still believe that we can all come up together. No need to help only your own. If you have the means, help everyone. Change lives and attitudes in the process. And the world will be a better place for the future generations.

Look at 911. Goddamn white people wanted to castrate the muslims, all muslims, for that shit. Why? It’s a perfect example of hating the whole for the actions of a few. What those guys did isn’t representative of the entire culture or religion or race. And only when people see that truth and accept that as their reality, that you can’t label an entire race as negative based on the actions of the few, is when we can all come up. Racism isn’t about skin color. It’s about attitudes and attitudes can be changed. I could get more in depth with this but it’s getting late and I got other shit to do. Make love, not hate. But don’t get the bitch pregnant. The world’s over-populated as it is.
