View Article  Looks like my first ebook is gonna take a little while.
I submitted a story for the Following the Syllabus imprint today and during that, I learned that it's within my best financial interests to submit my old MG work as a collection rather than individually. It makes more sense anyway since it's only 12 cohesive stories. The problem is that none of them are in any kind of digital or text format. I have to type everything up and convert them in the best possible version for submission. Converting isn't the prob. Typing all those stories up is. It's a lot and it's gonna take time I really don't have. But it's gotta be done, so when I get caught up on other things I'll hop on it. And I still don't have my new printer either. I'm gonna wait for the holidays and watch the prices fall to acceptable levels. By then, I hope to be close to having everything typed up and have some photos of my original drawings scanned and ready to post here. Then again, those could be considered a collection too since it's about 300 splash pages. I'll have to do some research on that. But just giving you a heads up for those that are curious as to what MG is or in this case, was.

Originally, the domain was hosted on a GoDaddy starter page featuring the text and image below between the dashes. The Symbol of Excellence image is extremely crude and rushed but it's mainly there to give an idea of what MG's insignia is. Although MG is still on hiatus, you can expect regular updates (pending copyrights) beginning with the original 1988 writings and drawings (which in no way fully represents the current incarnation of MG). The writings will initially be published as ebooks and later as hard copy. The drawings will be scanned images and posted categorically in the photo area and later published as a series of photo books.

-----You have the power of a god.  Do you keep it for selfish reasons or relinquish it to save the world?

In the near catastrophic event known as The Grand Transference, Earth became the moon of the diversely populated and technologically advanced planet Syndessi.  A teenager named Terrance Gilmore was born, raised, and lives there but is a child of Earth parents.  He has longed to have the power of Sapiens––Syndessian humans with varying levels of natural extrahuman abilities––which he believes will make him less of an outcast and enable him to rise from poverty.  On an eventful night, he succumbs to a new phenomenon known as the Akirak Affect; classified as an undetectable fatal disease that only manifests within Earth humans where a spontaneous burst of highly charged static electricity engulfs them and everything and everyone within close vicinity.  He becomes the first and only person to ever survive it and discovers that he now has more power than anyone could ever hope for.  He will confront a dilemma on whether to use the power for good or evil.  His decision will change the face of the entire universe.

The story is semi-autobiographical and a mixture of the Dragon Ball Z and Justice League Unlimited cartoons but in graphic novel format. Other than self-expression, one of my main goals for The Masked Guardian (MG) is to use it as a visual to pitch for an eventual animated series.  I created the character back in 1988; writing stories, drawing, and creating a multitude of characters.  Life happened and I sat on the idea for a long time.  Then I finally figured out what I want to do with my life and a dream was born that will someday become a reality.

I'll need an artist at some point but I won't look for one until the story is done which is gonna be a while since I'm gonna publish a series of books comprising all my college coursework first. Currently, MG is on hiatus until that is complete.

MG will be comedic, action-packed, dramatic, stylish, and visually stunning while retaining realistic elements that anyone can relate to. The everyday trials and tribulations of life that we all go through will be portrayed in that universe of characters and events.

I have no plans on this book being a failure.  I have no doubt in my mind that once completed, it will be highly successful which will lead into my ultimate goal of turning it into an animated series.  The symbol to the left is called The Symbol of Excellence and is the insignia on MG's costume. And no, it's not a professionally polished image at the moment.-----
